Swimming with power,
Gliding to success,
Rowing with vision,
No time for distress.
Swinging on bars,
With swagger and technique,
These wonderful athletes,
Are all at their peak.
Runners pushing on,
Cyclists ignoring flat tyres,
These show persistance,
And strive for desires.
Now for the track work,
Relays, throws and hurdles,
When I see them take risks,
My blood nearly curdles.
Olympians have passion,
And speed and resilience.
Let’s cheer them along,
And then celebrate their brilliance.
This reminded me of one of my old English teachers who was an Olympian runner — I wish I could remember his name (it was so long ago, haha)!. Fab poem!
That’s great! I am so much more inspired by Olympians than footballers or well paid pros.
I enjoy watching the fencing.
Olympians are inspiring! Yet they are overlooked often.
This is so cool! As it was a rhyming poem, I though to myself, nothing rhymes with flat tires?? But you made it work. Brilliant 😀
Haha yes I love a cheesy rhyme.
Such a cool poem. Currently I have been watching handball. Such a cool sport
Thanks. So many sports I knew little about until now.
