Christmas Movies I adore

Today I felt like sharing some of the movies that most make me feel Christmassy. Throughout my life I have seen various films over and over again that have had that festive vibe. In the last few years a few cheeky additions have snuck in too.

So let me know if you agree with any of these or you have your own movies that relate to Christmas joy.

Here goes… (in no particular order)

1) Home Alone 2

2) Mart Poppins (the stuff of legends)

3) The Snowman (short but sweet and anthemic)

4) Santa Claus: The Movie (the one with Dudley Moore)

5) Office Christmas Party (because of Jennifer Aniston)

6) The Polar Express

7) The Holiday (Kate Winslet)

8) The Christmas Chronicles (Goldie Hawn)

9) Love Actually (Emma Thompson)

10) Last Christmas (again Emma Thompson)

I wonder what your Christmas favourites might be.

  1. This is a good list. At christmas I love to watch The Holiday, You’ve Got Mail, Love Actually and Jingle All The Way! Thank you for sharing.

  2. When I was a kid, my favorites were the original animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and The Muppet Christmas Carol.

Nowadays, a must-watch every year for me is the 1984 version of A Christmas Carol starring George C. Scott. Plus, if you’re into Christmas concerns, I highly recommend Celtic Woman’s first Christmas concert: A Christmas Celebration.

  3. I love Christmas and the majority of my go-to comfort movies happen to be Christmassy. Elf with Will Ferrell is my favourite. In fact, one year I was sick and watched it on repeat. It drove my poor mum crazy!

  4. Yes to all of these, plus A Muppet Christmas Carol! I think my favourite is The Holiday. And I jist watched Last Christmas the other day and cried my eyes out! I love Tim Allen so I watch those Santa’s Clause movies every year too.

  5. I have seen about half of these, but love them so much! I’m trying to watch as many Christmas movies as I can this year so I’ll be adding these to my list 🙂

  6. Great list! I do think you should include Muppets Christmas Carol which I think I saw another reader mention. Home Alone 2 and Love Actually are soo good! I like the messages of holiday movies.
