Having just returned to Youtube after eight months off, I decided that I would put less videos of me talking on and try producing more Youtube shorts instead (or as well as). I like short books and short videos after all, so this new type of Youtube content seemed right up my street.
Originally I found making longer videos time consuming but shorts are easy to make and can be fun. I collected some snippets of video that I had taken on holidays and some that are about books, then I added some music or my own narration.
I don’t know whether they are any good but I really am enjoying playing around with this type of content. My limitations at the moment stem from my lack of experience with editing. Hopefully I will find better methods over time without having to subscribe to expensive video editing sites.
Youtube Shorts
I think that eventually these short videos will be an easy way to let people know what you are working on and draw attention to your writing projects. If you haven’t already, take time to check some of the interesting short content available. I especially love the fact ones, where they spill random facts about a particular place or subject.

My eventual aim is to take my readers on journeys with me and explore my love of reading. This video celebrates a street that I discovered in Edinburgh which inspired J K to come up with Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter books.

I don’t post YouTube videos or shorts. Infact, I hardly take photos of myself. I don’t think I can look at a picture of myself for very long without cringing. It just feels very embarrassing to me.
