As a new season and term begins,
Stormy skies replace a summer breeze.
Heatwaves end and coldness looms,
Changing trees shed colourful leaves.
People sip hot drinks in mugs,
Put on scarves and wear coats outside,
Work becomes busy and time passes by,
From the wind and rain you cannot hide.
Nights grow longer, days grow short,
Roast dinners on Sundays are cooked once more.
Families snuggle in front of fires,
Prepared for what winter might have in store.
