Olympic Dreams

They overcome so many hurdles just to get a chance in Tokyo.

Swimming with power,

Gliding to success,

Rowing with vision,

No time for distress.

Swinging on bars,

With swagger and technique,

These wonderful athletes,

Are all at their peak.

Runners pushing on,

Cyclists ignoring flat tyres,

These show persistance,

And strive for desires.

Now for the track work,

Relays, throws and hurdles,

When I see them take risks,

My blood nearly curdles.

Olympians have passion,

And speed and resilience.

Let’s cheer them along,

And then celebrate their brilliance.

Happy Holidays

In the mountains snow is falling,

In the villages, bells are calling,

In the country, reindeer run,

In the houses, so much fun.

In the evening carrots and milk,

Presents wrapped and lined with silk,

In the morning, radiant faces,

People locked in warm embraces,

Merry Christmas everyone,

May your day be lined with fun,

Have a drink and eat mince pies,

May Christmas be bursting with surprise.
